Summer Opera Institute

June 17-26, 2016

University of Central Florida and Opera Orlando co-sponsor this intensive, ten-day program for high school and college-aged singers interested in exploring classical vocal music and developing their singing/acting skills. The program is ideal for singers interested in pursuing a music education or performance career. Activities include voice lessons, coaching on solos and duets, master classes, stage movement classes, diction classes, audition preparation, and a final concert.

Summer Opera Institute Staff:

Thomas Potter (Co-director SOI, UCF Voice Faculty/Executive Director, UCFOpera Workshop), 

Robin Jensen (Co-director SOI, Opera Orlando Director of Education and UCF Collaborative Pianist/Music Director UCF Opera Workshop),

Stella Zamballis (Metropolitan Opera Soprano, Voice Teacher, Mentor)

Guest teachers and clinicians for 2016 included: baritone Gabriel Preisser (Opera Orlando executive & artistic director), stage director Vince Connor (Opera Orlando general director), Eric Pinder (Opera Orlando Resident Stage Director) among others.
