Opera Orlando, in partnership with Alterity Chamber Orchestra, presents the world premiere of Death of Ivan Ilych. A new chamber opera based on the classic novella by Tolstoy, with music by John Young and libretto by Alan Olejniczak. Written as a response to the composer’s own battle with cancer and the very real threat of dying, this opera is a poignant meditation and exploration of life and death.
