The Opera Orlando Youth Company puts young singers between the ages of eight and eighteen on a real stage, in real productions, alongside professional artists, and in front of real audiences. This is not just another children’s choir. This is opera training for the next generation of artists.

Emerging Artists / ages 13-18
weekly class / Saturday 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Production/event specific rehearsals are in addition to the weekly class meetings.

Scholarships are available for all ages, based on potential talent and family financial needs. Prior to the audition, request a scholarship form to be completed and returned with your application.

For the audition, please prepare to sing the “Star Spangled Banner,” a'capella in a comfortable key, and a prepared piece (classical, art song, musical theatre) with piano. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist.

There are various performing opportunities for the Opera Orlando Youth Company throughout each season. Past performances include Youth Company productions of Brundibár and Noye’s Fludde, Opera Orlando MainStage productions of Carmen, Die Fledermaus, Hansel & Gretel, La Bohème, The Magic Flute, Tosca, and The Secret River, Orlando Museum of Art Festival of Trees, and Home for the Holidays with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.
