#RepresentationMatters is a platform that builds on Opera Orlando’s already strong community focus and pledge to meet and condemn violence with music and acceptance for all. This ethos drove the 2016 One Voice Orlando concert, which was a benefit for the LGBTQ+ and LatinX communities in response to the Pulse shootings. With #RepresentationMatters, Opera Orlando continues its efforts to give a platform for these communities as well as expanding and providing a platform for our BIPOC community to hold interviews, panel discussions, and reflections.

Opera Orlando board member and local Central Florida activist Chevalier Lovett hosts this talk-show style broadcast that focuses on under-represented artists and their experience in the opera world, both on and offstage.

Hosted by Opera Orlando’s Executive director and Grammy award-winning baritone Gabriel Preisser, this live-streamed series, presented on the Opera Orlando Facebook page and later posted on the Company’s YouTube channel, is full of interviews, company updates, and the occasional joke or sound effect.

Join the discussion online and talk about all things Opera Orlando with staff and artists.
